Welcome to Five Pillar Experiences. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website, as well as the booking, participation, and execution of educational trips, retreats, and curated experiences created by us or in partnership with our Local Heroes.
By continuing to use our website or by proceeding to book an experience with Five Pillar Experiences, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
1. Booking and Payments
Booking inquiries are typically processed directly by our team upon submission via our Contact or Booking forms. When you confirm to book a curated experience, a detailed itinerary and invoice will be provided to you separately.
- Confirmation: Your booking is considered confirmed only upon the receipt of the requested deposit or full payment outlined in our individual correspondence.
- Currency and Invoices: All quotes, invoices, and payments refer to the specific currency denoted in our correspondence. Payments can be conducted via the methods defined on your invoice.
2. Cancellations and Modifications
We understand that travel plans can change unexpectedly. Because we partner deeply with local communities and local logistics are prepared in advance, we maintain the following cancellation guidelines:
- Cancellations by You: Details regarding specific cancellation windows and refund eligibility will be explicitly stated on your travel itinerary and invoice before you submit payment.
- Modifications: Should you wish to alter your travel dates or number of participants, please inform us as quickly as possible. We will make our best effort to accommodate your modifications, though this may incur extra logistical fees subject to the local providers.
- Cancellations by Us: We reserve the right to modify or cancel itineraries due to uncontrollable weather conditions, concerns over participant safety, or unforeseeable disruptions in the locales you are visiting. In such extraordinary cases, we will negotiate alternative schedules or refund specific segments at our discretion.
3. Mindful Travel and Community Respect
Five Pillar Experiences is fundamentally built on mutual respect and empowering local communities across Bali. We operate under the philosophy that travel must regenerate rather than extract.
- Local Customs: Participants are expected to behave appropriately and respectfully towards local communities, their customs, and the environments visited.
- Right to Refuse: We, and our Local Heroes, reserve the unequivocal right to deny participation or terminate the experience of any individual who behaves disruptively, unlawfully, or disrespects the cultural guidelines clearly briefed prior to the experience. In such cases, no refunds will be provided.
4. Medical, Fitness, and Accessibility
Our trips often involve walking across varied terrain in tropical conditions. It is your sole responsibility to ensure you are medically, mentally, and physically fit enough to participate.
Please advise us in writing of any specific medical conditions, food allergies, or mobility requirements at the time of your inquiry. If you do not notify us prior to your arrival, we cannot guarantee the feasibility of accommodating late requests, although we will always try our best.
5. Assumption of Risk, Liability, and Insurance
Travel in Southeast Asia involves inherent risks, including unfamiliar terrain, unpredictable weather, and varying standards of local infrastructure compared to your home country.
- Assumption of Risk: By booking, you voluntarily assume all risks involving personal injury, illness, loss, or property damage associated with participating in our experiences.
- Waiver of Liability: Five Pillar Experiences, alongside its employees, partners, and Local Heroes, will not be held liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss and/or injury suffered by you during the extent of the trip.
- Mandatory Insurance: We strongly advise that all travelers carry comprehensive travel and medical insurance that covers the duration of their trip, including coverage for activities, delays, and medical evacuations.
