Overview

About this journey

Discover the diverse landscapes and living heritage of Pemuteran through a journey connecting land, community, and sea. Explore sacred traditions at Pura Melanting, experience local grape cultivation and traditional salt-making, and gain insight into the livelihoods that shape North Bali’s coastal communities. Continue into the waters of Pemuteran to learn about Biorock coral restoration, snorkel among marine life, and explore the mangrove ecosystem of Teluk, creating a meaningful connection between culture, nature, and conservation.

Why we built it this way

Pemuteran is Bali's quiet success story: a village that rebuilt its own reef. Day one is the land side, temple, vineyard, salt. Day two you go out with the people who run the Biorock project, learn how the structures work, then snorkel over coral that was rubble twenty years ago.
