Overview

About this journey

Experience the peaceful charm of Sidemen through a blend of local traditions, nature, and everyday village life. Explore a vibrant traditional market before joining a hands-on Balinese cooking class, followed by a traditional offering-making and temple blessing. Cycle through scenic countryside to discover Gembleng Waterfall, enjoy a refreshing coffee or young coconut, and visit an Arak Plantation. Complete the journey with a visit to a traditional weaving workshop, discovering the craftsmanship behind Sidemen’s distinctive textiles.

Why we built it this way

Sidemen is what many people imagine Bali looked like before the traffic: terraced valleys, Mount Agung behind them, and villages still busy with weaving and farming. Day one is kitchen and temple with a local host; day two you see the valley from a bicycle, stopping where locals would, and end with the weavers behind Sidemen’s distinctive textiles.
